Rijeka is the seat of the Primorsko-goranska County, a region which consists of a link between the sea and mountains extending to the Mount Učka across to the Goran mountains as far as the Velebit.

In Rijeka, the Capuchin Church of our Lady of Lourdes dominates the abica Square with its splendid Neo-Gothic facade decorated with mosaics and stone ornaments.
To the west of Rijeka, is the Opatija Riviera, To the east is the Crikvenica-Vinodol Riviera.
The Rijeka Baroque city clock tower above the arched gateway linking the Korzo to the inner city, was designed by Filbert Bazarig in 1876

The “Corso” is Rijeka’s main pedestrian street. Lined by elegant period buildings, shops and cafés, interspersed with refreshing fountains, this is where the locals gather by day to catch up on the latest, and to enjoy a promenade. Just behind the seafront, Korzo is the very heart of the town
